Oxygen EWOT Protocols
The oxygen machines have you breathing at 93-95% pure oxygen, we normally breath between 20-23%. Ideally you want to breath in the entire 900L of oxygen every session (15-20 mins). For best results you want o maintain a strong and steady aerobic pace. Should never exceed your max heart rate.
Calculate max HR by using: AGE - 220.
Protocol 1 - For De-Conditioned Users
If you do NOT typically exercise (3+ days a week) this protocol is suggested. Once you complete this for 7 days move to protocol 2.
- Exercise at a comfortable rate without overexertion for 5 mins.
- Goal is to improve fitness level in 1 min increments per session, until you get to 15 mins
Protocol 2 - Conditioned users capable exercising 110+ BPM
Complete this protocol for 7 days then move to protocol 3.
- Exercise at a good aerobic pace.
- First 5 mins you may feel an exertion challenge
- Reduce efforts moderately when challenged.
- When exercise becomes easier (challenge passes - usually lasting 1-min)
- After 15 mins, stop exercising but continue breathing De until heart rate drops below 100 BPM
Protocol 3 - Conditioned users capable of exercising 110+ BPM
- Exercise at a good aerobic pace to achieve 110 BPM or higher (Do not exceed max heart rate)
- Again first 5 minutes you may feel exertion challenge
- When exercise becomes easier and challenge passes begin sprint for 20-30 seconds (Do not exceed max HR)
- After 20-30 seconds reduce effort for recovery (1-2 minutes) until you are able to repeat another 20-30 seconds and recovery cycle.
